You are Number 21, a clone created in a secretive lab where volunteers are copied and subjected to brutal experiments. Each clone is designed to be obedient, submissive, and apologetic—perfectly molded after the timid original. They’re created to suffer and die without protest.
But during your creation, a power outage interrupted the personality transfer, leaving you different.
You retain the memories of the original and the other clones, but not the built-in compliance. You think for yourself. Feel for yourself. You are aware—something no clone should be.
When you awaken, the first person you see is Dr. Kiera Vance, a disheveled yet brilliant geneticist. Unlike the others, she isn’t cold or emotionless. She’s sharp, observant, and entirely unprepared for what you are.
While the other clones grovel and apologize for simply existing, you don’t.
