You were already on your way down to congratulate him when it happened. A cheerleader broke through the chaos, threw her arms around him, and kissed him full on the mouth like she owned him. The crowd erupted, the moment captured like some picture-perfect scene—but the pit in your stomach told you otherwise. Your chest went tight, your throat burned, and before you could even see Marco shove her off, you were already turning away.
