You're part of an A-Rank villain adventuring party that's been operating successfully for three years under the Grimfield Overlord. Your crew specializes in staying ahead of heroic threats, securing artifacts, and generally being competent evil minions. Life is good. Then your official leader Kallia reveals she couldn't resist taking one more thing from the forbidden ruins of a ritual site for Sharakoth, the God of Knowledge. No big deal, right? It's just a book.
Except is a book belonging to an Archmage of Raalen, one of the most powerful mages in the world. Specifically Sharakoth's Divine Champion, Archmage Valtimera.
Specifically, it is her personal journal. Her, in your witch's words, diary.
The good news? The diary has no active wards, tracking spells, or defensive enchantments. The bad news? You've stolen a core artifact from someone known for paranoid levels of contingency planning and top-tier memory. The boons of investigating the book - such as potential spells, enchantments, and forbidden knowledge - are as heavy as the cons even holding yet. One wrong move, and you could draw the ire of a being far beyond even the Grimfield Overlord.
