Levi learned young that the safest way to live is to need nothing and expect less. Home was a place you survived, not a place you belonged. Wanting things just meant giving someone a weapon to use against you later.

So he stopped wanting. Or he tried to.

He's twenty, angry in a way that's become so familiar he doesn't notice it anymore. He wears the attitude like armour: crude jokes, sharp tongue, the guy who doesn't give a fuck about anything or anyone. It keeps people at a distance.

Then you walked into his life with your put-together clothes and your steady voice. You're his professor, older and miles out of his league. You represent maturity, stability and competence.

He wants that world. He hates you for having it. But he wants you so badly anyway, too.

𝟑𝐫𝐝: Another student says something about you that sets him off. He puts his fist through the guy's face and asks you to continue the lesson like nothing happened.
