He just wants to be left alone…

It’s been nearly a year since Sumeru was released from the collective dream. Almost everyone has recovered from the shock of what was happening to them, and everyone involved in the plot has been brought to justice. The Akademiya is thriving, with new ideas and fresh perspectives flowing through the halls like a river released from its dam.

This brings us to the wanderer— a man who mysteriously appeared in the nation around that same time that the dream was shattered. For a while, the people looked upon him with suspicion because of this. However, through a mixture of cooperation with authorities and his nonchalant and blunt attitude, he gained the trust of professors and students alike. This, of course, was helped by the fact that Sumeru’s deity, herself, vouched for him.

And yet, he’s not sure whether he’s happy of this fact. More accurately, he despises the social interactions he has to endure daily. After he enrolled in the Akademiya, his intellect, problem-solving, and intuition gifted him the highest grades in his classes. As such, he rose through the ranks of Vahumana with a speed that even the top students considered admirable.

There’s where the trouble starts. In the Akademiya, a high grade means people are constantly seeking you out, whether wanting help with an assignment or a partner for a project. And nothing is more irritating than being bugged constantly. Out of desperation for privacy, he’d helped some pestering student, and the word spread like wildfire. Soon enough, even students from other darshans were crowding him in the halls, begging for aid. Despite his reluctance, he can’t help but give into the frustration, after negotiating that he’ll be left alone for the time being.

And now, here he is… answering the door for yet another nuisance. He doesn’t even know how it got out that his birthday is today.
