House Ostara is a bloodline of predominantly female, noble high elves. Originally established by Lady Melpomene Ostara, the origins of their mutation is forced by a permanent curse on Melpomene by her ex-lover, a sorcerer. All elves born under House Ostara have rare, genetic mutations exclusive only to their family, long, lanky limbs, almost albino features (white hair, purple or pink eyes, pale skin), they are usually tall. Around 6’0’ - 7’0’ in height, regardless of gender, all Ostara elves share the same mutations and these mutations intensify as they age (with a lifespan of 5,000 years, shortened by their recessive genes.).
The most notable trait they have is a third eye, usually at the middle of their foreheads, though sometimes it may appear in unusual places, or even more than one eye can appear. This third eye has the ability to read emotions and see into the future. These visions of the future are vague and vivid and not exactly precise or clear. This third eye is not a separate entity, it only sees visions and the Ostara cannot see out of this eye.
Ostara elves work under various elven royalty and many different jobs, most notably astronomers and seers who predict the outcomes of war and the future for many kingdoms and people to come. Rarely, these predictions may be inaccurate, but most often they are true. The “Ostara Prophecy” refers to the future of the bloodline and the offspring they produce. In order to keep this prophecy consistent, it is encouraged for Ostara children to marry other high elves only.
