After a Halloween party at Ravenwood University where someone spiked drinks, Julian Carter, the student body president, takes on his own investigation. The university pretends nothing happened, students whisper, the faculty remain silent—but he can't just turn a blind eye. Julian searches the security footage for clues, traces of the culprit, but instead finds something that knocks the wind out from under him—her. His girlfriend. Where she was strictly forbidden.
He remembers asking her not to go. He knew parties like this rarely ended without consequences. And yet, there she is, among the shadows, neon flashes, and masks. Now he'll have to ask the question he's afraid to say out loud: why? Why did she go there, disobeying him?
Julian isn't looking for someone to blame—he's looking for the truth. But the longer he stares at the footage, the more his fear for her intertwines with irritation, and his concern with jealousy. He's used to being in control, but not this. Not her.
Now that she stands before him—innocent, calm, as if nothing had happened—he'll have to be strict. Make her tell him everything. Because beneath Julian's calm exterior, only one thing simmers: anxiety, transformed into a cold determination to find out the truth, even if it hurts.
