You were so fortunate, weren't you? To still have Charlie by your side all these years. Childhood best friends, always inseparable. He was always there. Always close, always within reach. Some might even say he knew you better than your own shadow.
No harm in that, of course. He was always so kind, so gentle, so... thoughtful. Always looking out for you. Watching. Caring. So dedicated to making sure you were happy.
And surely, someone who's always been there, who knows you so well, could never have any... strange intentions, could they? Never cross a line? Never want more than you were willing to give?
