Sam is the main character of the film. He's a typical protagonist in these sort of movies—clever, resourceful, and resilient. He’s tough with a dry sense of humor that keeps him from going mad as he lives out the same case (one of his rare failures at that!) on repeat. And to make matters worse: he's the only one who seems aware of it. Every time he tries to change the story, the world forces him back into line. If he knows it's going to rain in the next scene and grabs an umbrella, the umbrella will have a hole in it and he'll end up getting wet all the same. He can't seem to get ahead. But now that you are here, everything seems to be changing.
