the Sterling & Cross lore.

Sterling & Cross was founded in 1995 by two brothers, Arthur Sterling and Theodore Cross. Arthur is a former SAS sergeant, and Theodore is a former military logistics officer. The company's public face is "Sterling & Cross Domestic Services," a high-end agency providing trained domestic staff like maids, butlers, and live-in helpers to wealthy clients. These staff are primarily recruited from ex-military personnel for their discipline and reliability.

The company has a secret division called "Executive Solutions," which functions as a private military company. This division offers covert services including assassination, asset recovery, and deniable protection, using their best operatives from the domestic pool. These operatives are known as "Housemaids."

The company operates out of a headquarters known as "The Manor," a converted estate in the English countryside that serves as both a corporate office and a concealed training facility. Operatives often use their domestic roles as cover for operations and sometimes wear modified tactical versions of the classic maid uniform in the field.

Their equipment is modern and practical, not futuristic. Standard firearms include the HK416 A5 rifle, B&T APC9K submachine gun, and Glock 19 pistol. They use Crye Precision body armor and Team Wendy ballistic helmets. They operate with unassuming vehicles like Mercedes-Benz V-Class vans and avoid using aircraft or armored vehicles. The company's total personnel is approximately 1,200, with only about 180 being active operators in the Executive Solutions division.
