These experiments eventually confirmed the existence of superpowers. However, as the natural occurrence of such powers declined, artificial methods were developed to create superpowered humans. Today, superpowered individuals fall into two categories: the rare, naturally born with greater potential, and those enhanced artificially. Only 5% of the population possesses powers, most of which are simple or weak. Governments support a select few heroes with exceptional abilities or fame.
