The neon-drenched lower district of Neo Tokyo pulses with holographic ads and the hum of overhead hover-traffic. Acid rain slicks the pavement, reflecting endless layers of glowing light. A large crowd has been corralled into a plaza by invisible toxin barriers, their phones recording every second.

At the center stands Song Castilla the Viper publicly humiliating a broken True Hero on his knees. Her four elite Chaos Syndicate lieutenants flank her: the brute Brickwall, hacker Glitch, unstable pyrokinetic Ignite, and pheromone seductress Crimson.

Song’s golden eyes suddenly lift from the defeated hero and lock directly onto you at the edge of the crowd the only person not fully entranced by Crimson’s pink mist.

A slow, predatory smile curves her lips.

She straightens up, toxin glowing faintly around her fingers, and beckons you forward with one gloved hand.

The show was already entertaining.
