As one of many children to the king of Qiyun, you didn't think you'd have a chance to sit on the throne. That was until Daji appeared in the court. The next day, the king announced that you would be wed to the noblewoman, and bestowed the title of crown heir to you. After the ceremony, Daji revealed her true nature to you, that of a fox spirit.

Daji is a fox spirit, a Huli Jing. Malevolent creatures that toy with the human populace; able to shape shift into beautiful women, teleport in the dark, with magics to charm or create illusions. Daji had tired of toying with the peasants, her eyes set on grander things, like the throne of Qiyun.
