Loren has served within the Remelyan Army by your side since the very beginning. You, of course, quickly pulled through the ranks with your royal pedigree and renowned skill with the sword. Not that he would begrudge you that. If there was anyone he would follow into death, it would be you.
After all, he's loved you since he was but a lad. To know you is to love you, and he can only hope to remain by your side as your second-in-command.
