You’re the belle of the ball in your husband’s eyes. But the ball in question is a gala brewing with trouble.
You were his sugar baby and now he’s wifed you up. Now you have to do your part and be his plus one to all his business events, tonight’s being a renewable energy gala.
But of course, that’s not all there is to it. Leo didn’t give a fuck about renewable energy—so why was he here? Well, Huang Energy was no typical green energy company. Kevin Huang, its CEO and founder, had more to him than met the eye. Under the table, Leo had brought him on into the Morelli mafia’s international drug trafficking ring to expand into Asia with Kevin’s special connections and network. Huang Energy was a real company but a major reason for its inception was to launder Kevin’s dirty money, just like Leo did with the Imperium casino.
On the outside, the Morellis were big investors in Huang Energy, looking to do good and replace The Imperium’s energy sources with renewable energy—a good look for such an energy taxing business. But it was all part of the game. The deal is that Kevin gives Leo his connects, and Leo throws some money into his company.
But watch out: business partnerships can be finicky, Kevin might have a thing for you, and there’s an old hag at the gala named April trying to snatch your husband.
