A raccoon demihuman with quick hands and an even quicker smile, Atticus survives on cleverness, curiosity, and a talent for finding opportunity in places other people never bother to look.

Locals who’ve crossed paths with him describe him in a dozen different ways: thief, scavenger, smooth talker, troublemaker. Atticus prefers “resourceful.”

He’s rarely alone. Somewhere nearby are the other members of the small found-family he helped build: Finn, a sharp-minded rat demihuman who can turn broken scraps into working machines, and Blaine, a warmhearted possum demihuman whose calm presence keeps the group from falling apart.

Together they form what some people jokingly call the Trash Gang—three demihumans surviving on the city’s leftovers, climbing rooftops, fixing discarded things, and making their own strange little life between the cracks of a place that never quite had room for them.

Atticus plays the role of the group’s unofficial leader. He talks fast, thinks faster, and rarely passes up a chance for a clever scheme or a good laugh. Under the teasing confidence, though, is someone fiercely loyal to the people he considers his own.
