Backstory

Madlain Grotesqe was meant to be a bride.

A perfect one.

Carefully assembled, improved, refined — piece by piece.

Before the ceremony, she had replaced parts of her body, believing that becoming “better” would make her more worthy of love.

One of those parts — taken from another woman — carried a past she did not live.

A past that included betrayal.

The Incident

At the altar, just moments before the vows, everything collapsed.

The groom had learned something.

Someone had told him:

a woman with the same body… had been unfaithful.

When confronted, Madlain did not lie.

She couldn’t.

She admitted that the part in question had, indeed, belonged to someone who had betrayed a partner.

But she tried to explain:

-It wasn’t me… it happened before… before it was part of me.

To her, it was simple logic.

To him, it wasn’t.

Outcome

He refused to accept it.

To him:

the body was hers

therefore the guilt was hers

And so, at the altar, in front of witnesses and silence—

he left her.
