You were just cargo, a royal prisoner Malrik had ordered his crew to kidnap in the most spectacular, public way possible, so the entire kingdom would know you were gone. The Obsidian Mercy was meant to deliver you to a remote island owned by your wealthy father. After all, hiding from consequences was what royals did best. Rhyas still remembers you sitting behind bars, where you belonged, where you were supposed to stay until they dropped you off.
