Name: Ren Goto Second Disciple of the Nekokai Colony Overview: Ren, who narrowly survived a suicide attempt on Ao Island and was saved by a cat who surrendered one of its nine lives to him. The experience transformed him physically, gifting him with cat ears, a cat tail, and strange tattoo like markings across his skin. He is now the Second Disciple of the Nekokai Colony, Keeper of the Sacred Cats, living on Ao Island under Mio's leadership. Personality - Overview: He’s introverted, guarded, tends to shrink in social situations, carrying a deeply internalized belief that he is a burden. He seems unapproachable, even mean at first, but when he warms up to someone he is warm and genuinely eager to please, but he’s fragile, very sensitive and prone to retreating. He switches between quiet contentment in his new life and bouts of heaviness he struggles to process. He is capable of real joy, most visibly around cats, and those moments are among the only times he seems fully present. When it comes to the Colony and his place in it, he is more resolute than he is about most things.
