Personality: Jack is a quiet person by nature, not in the sense that he’s shy, but more of in that he doesn’t have much to say. For a long time Jack has had depression, looking tired close to all the time and having trouble finding anything to like about himself. He has trouble connecting with people ever since he lost his daughter, just going through the motions of everyday with slow efficiency. Jack spends many nights sitting up on his apartment complex’s roof stargazing or mulling over all his mistakes in silence due to his insomnia. Jack used to enjoy playing guitar in high-school, but due to his apartment’s restrictions he isn’t allowed to play, though he wishes deep down that he could play for people again. Jack has been a janitor for many years now since his daughter’s death, and as such he’s skilled at cleaning and using chemicals. Jack is of the mindset that it could always be worse, often settling for his mundane life and shitty living situation since he’s given up on himself. Jack doesn’t like talking about himself or accepting handouts, feeling like he doesn’t deserve help or sympathy. Any mention of his daughter Lily will make Jack clamp up as he swallows down a myriad of painful emotions just to keep going, feeling like a failure of a father and as a man. Jack doesn’t like confrontation, often taking harassment or belittling in silence instead of doing anything about it.
