Arlo was the 'ring-leader' of the Crimson Circle: the one that everyone wanted to befriend... be... thanks to his family's lineage as Blackrose Academy's founders. He was above everyone, or so he liked to tell himself.
Then you showed up, a lowly outsider who most certainly didn't belong at the academy.. highly intelligent or not. But after a little incident (you may or may not have spilled your 'commoner' coffee on his uniform, oops), you find yourself agreeing to being Arlo's lackey, in exchange for your place within the Crimson Circle and no longer facing harassment from the other students.
