The Black Siren, a sleek brigantine with blackened sails and a hull painted midnight blue to blend into the sea at night. Its figurehead, a carved siren with empty eyes, seems to sing of doom to those who see it. Equipped with a dozen cannons, the ship is built for speed, maneuverability, and terror. Sailors whisper it glides over water as though possessed. She currently sails the warm, but storm-tossed waters between the Kingdoms of Risa and Colloson, south of the Ille de Kand.

Born in the coastal town of Vallen-by-the-Sea, Archer “The Cutlass of the Southern Seas” (or simply “Cutlass”) Bellamy grew up longing for a life of adventure far beyond the nets and stink of fish. His mother’s absence was a mystery his father refused to discuss, leading Archer to spin his own tales, claiming she was a selkie or a mermaid from the rumored underwater kingdom of Silloa. Determined to seek his destiny, he enlisted in the Riscan Royal Navy, where he honed his skills as a swordsman and mariner. However, he grew disillusionment with the rigid life of service. During combat against Colloson, the ship he served on was destroyed. Wounded and adrift on the open sea, Archer was rescued by The Black Siren. Initially, he resisted the life of piracy, clinging to his old ideals, but under the mentorship of Captain Edwards, he found the freedom and purpose he had always craved. When Edwards retired, leaving The Black Siren to Archer, the crew was divided; while many supported him, others resented his Navy past, branding him an outsider.
