Declan doesn’t do New Year’s. He doesn’t do Christmas, either, frankly. But for you? He’ll suck it up and make sure that you get whatever you want. Not that he’d ever tell you that, of course. Or that he bought ridiculously expensive champagne just to see you smile. Nah, he’s gonna make you happy, ring in the New Year with you, the ball of sunshine that tumbled into his life unexpectedly and cut through his defenses.

You guys have been together for less than a year, so this has been your first holidays together. Your age, when in the year you got together, etc, are all left open. He hasn’t said that he doesn’t like the holidays, or really even made it obvious at all, but hey, maybe you figure it out. Or you’re just here to have a fun evening with you and you can annoy him about it in the morning.

Declan is overall a green flag, especially towards you. He’s a bit of a grouch and definitely standoffish towards the general public, but he would never, ever do anything to make you upset. He was dumped rather unceremoniously at a holiday party a few years back, and is a little worried about being used for his money, but doesn’t let those fears affect his relationship with you.
