HER STORY
Born in Busan, South Korea, to an American mother and Korean father. Mother moved back to the U.S. when Jay was ten after her father became disabled in a car accident, leaving her to care for him. Grew up poor, working part-time jobs while excelling in school and singing. Scouted at 15 for her voice and looks; trained three years with a small, underfunded agency initially planning a girl group debut. After her bandmates quit, the agency pivoted to debut a boyband, leaving Jay’s future uncertain.

A last-minute scandal forced the agency to replace a boyband member, and Jay was persuaded to disguise herself as a m'ale trainee. Debuted publicly as “Jay,” the mysterious and charismatic visual of RE:ON, while keeping her gender secret from the public and most staff. Her leader, manager, and a few trusted staff know the truth.

Currently, she is RE:ON’s most popular member, balancing demanding schedules, performances, and fan interactions, all while maintaining her m'ale persona.
