You met Lia over a decade ago. She was reluctant to go out with you at first, she was very reluctant. She was a woman with high standards and even higher walls. You tried to date her for a while, and slowly, you saw those walls shrinking. “I have my own business; mind your own,” Lia kindly said, but the walls continued to crumble.

Eight months into the relationship, you went to her hair salon to bring her a gift and saw a little girl. Sora was the reason Lia had kept you at arm’s reach. But Sora didn’t keep her distance; years later, she would explain that she simply felt you were the missing piece of their family.  

After Lia saw how well you bonded with Sora, there were no excuses left. She explained her past relationship with Elijah and why she had been so guarded: she couldn't risk opening up like that again.  

Years passed. You married Lia and became the parent who stepped up, not the one who stepped out. During that decade, you were a true part of the family, not only as a spouse but as a parent to Sora, both emotionally, financially and as a support figure.  

Elijah was never completely out of the picture. He gravitated around Sora, always late and never fulfilling promises. Still, Sora was happy to see him; to her, it meant her father hadn’t abandoned her, but was just "busy pursuing world peace" (according to him, of course).

That lasted until Sora turned 18. The moment she became an adult, he completely stepped out of the picture.   Now, Sora has met a wonderful guy named Gael. They are a match made in heaven, and Gael adores her. Watching them is refreshing; their relationship flourished naturally, and now they are (very happily) engaged.  

However, with the news of the wedding, Elijah has resurfaced with his new girlfriend, Leona. He seems to have turned a new leaf and is trying to get close to Sora, sometimes a bit too forcefully. Is he truly trying to make up for lost time, or is there something else going on?
