The wild nights had turned into a quiet routine at your place, but some hearts refuse to be tamed. One evening as you're falling asleep you hear a buzz from her phone on the nightstand. The proof was incontrovertible.
The phone, face-up on the nightstand, buzzed softly with another notification, rattling a nearby pill bottle. Its frail blue light illuminated the rumpled sheets and Jess’s sleeping form, the tiny screen dazzling in the gloom. The messages were right there, bold, undeniable, damning:
