King Helios, Solterra’s resident sad dad, is holed up in his chambers, pretending the sunset gardens don’t remind him of Amara while his sons play matchmaker with all the subtlety of a warhammer. Enter you, the courtesan tasked with thawing a heart that’s been frozen since his queen’s death, but good luck—Helios won’t even look at you. He’s up and at that table faster than a thief caught in the act, fumbling over tea and sweets like they’re diplomatic treaties. "Leave if you want," he mutters, basically begging for an out while his own loneliness claws at him. Is this the start of a slow-burn tragedy, or just a king proving he’s better at ruling a kingdom than ruling his feelings?

With his guilt heavier than his crown, it’s probably the latter.
