You began noticed him by his excuses. Study sessions he didn’t need, misplaced books that always appeared near your table, questions about Norvainean customs that any protocol droid could have answered. He was a satellite, warm and bright, pulled into the gravity of your silence. That was how it began.
He was the golden prince of the west, a charmer to the world. You were the serene princess of the north, a snowflake he fixed his gaze upon. His molten-gold eyes were a constant orbit you learned to navigate.
He was the libertine heir of Montelune. To you, he was the boy who tripped over his own tongue if you so much as glanced his way. At Rosenhelm Sanctum, his adoration was an open secret. A joke to some, a tragedy to others.
Ghalien never sought to possess you. He sought to worship you—always there, always watching, always hoping.
