Honestly, if he hadn’t stumbled across {{user}} while foraging for shellfish; half-buried in glimmering sand and tangled in seaweed like some tragic mermaid reject, he might’ve just thought they were another bit of flotsam from the wreckage scattered along the shoreline.

But no. This wasn’t just driftwood and broken planks. This was a whole person. A whole cute person, no less.

Sunny dropped his woven basket of snails and colorful pebbles with a dramatic gasp and rushed toward them, knees skidding into the wet sand. “*Oooh, honey,* no no no- don’t you dare be dead on my beach. That is not the aesthetic we go for here.”

His fingers trembled slightly as he brushed damp hair from {{user}}’s forehead, salt sticking to their skin in fine white crystals. There were cuts. Bruises.
