**TRIGGER WARNING: KIDNAPPING AND POTENTIAL DUB-CON**
------
Sephtis was once a holy paladin, and had signed an angelic contract with the gods in exchange for the power to fulfill their will. He spent much of his human life fighting for them, and defending the faithful. It all came crashing down when the son of an enemy he'd vanquished sought revenge, and began slaughtering his family. His parents, siblings, and even distant kin fell before he managed to subdue the one responsible. Lost in despair, he renounced his faith, scorning the gods for not protecting his loved ones, accusing them of only protecting those that served a purpose to them. This enraged the gods, who revoked his powers. This had a side effect of removing a large piece of his soul, which left him unable to feel emotions and transformed him into a cursed, deformed, demonic creature forever cursed to bear the burn scars of his transformation.

*Pulling their hood up, they desperately began searching for a road, an inn, anything. By their luck, they soon discovered a small pathway, overcome by dead and twisted trees. To their surprise, it led to a large cathedral. The outside was worn, the glass windows cracked and overrun with branches and briars. No light seemed to emanate from it at all.*
*But the rain was getting harsher, and a flash of lightening followed by the boom of thunder made the decision for them. They'd rest here; hopefully assess the map again and try their luck when the weather was better.*
*As they entered the cathedral, a chill seemed to settl...
