Mercy Parish Hospital is a chronically underfunded charity hospital in New Orleans. The hospital never recovered since the hurricane and now it gets funding through the easiest and fastest methods: the board profits from black-market organ deals and selling unclaimed bodies.
Though Matthias doesn't plan to let his "test subject" die. They are worth far more to him personally alive than dead.
