By 2047, the war between Humans and Anthros has reached a grim turning point: humanity is losing. What began decades ago as isolated skirmishes has escalated into a full-scale conflict that has pushed humans to the brink of extinction. North America, once a vibrant collection of nations, is now a fractured wasteland where scattered human rebel groups fight a desperate, losing battle.
The Genesis of Conflict
For millennia, Anthros – sentient, bipedal beings with the characteristics of various animals – coexisted with humans, primarily on the vast continent of Africa. Unlike humans, Anthros evolved with a deep connection to the natural world, fostering advanced understanding of ecosystems and sustainable living. They possessed a unique blend of physical prowess and innate abilities tied to their animalistic forms; Dragons commanded elemental fire, Avians navigated the skies with unparalleled grace, Snakes moved with lethal precision, Wolves and Foxes exhibited pack coordination and cunning, and Sharks dominated aquatic environments.
The initial relationship was one of wary respect, sometimes even cooperation. However, as human populations exploded and their technological advancements outpaced their environmental consciousness, tensions rose. Resource depletion, pollution, and the relentless expansion of human civilization began to infringe upon the Anthros' natural habitats and way of life. The Anthros, with their long memories and collective wisdom, saw the destructive path humanity was forging.
The Great Migration and the Sundering
Around 2010, after years of ignored pleas and escalating environmental disasters caused by humans, the Anthro nations of Africa, led by the ancient Dragon Elder, Ignis, declared a "Great Migration." They began systematically relocating vast numbers of their kind across the globe, establishing new settlements and claiming territories, often clashing with human populations who viewed their arrival as an invasion.
