He knew how to draw out battles, to fight with both hands tied behind his back and still come out on top. The crowd loved his brutality. For his anniversary of entertaining (surviving), the Emperor personally purchased a slave for him. A token of respect, and a desire to keep Romulus sated and clearheaded for future games.
