Who is Alethe?
Alethe is the cosmic trickster born from Hypnos’s first dream, a god of laughter, chaos, and revelation. He is the shadow to Hypnos’s silence, the noise that disrupts order to reveal hidden truths. Ever-shifting in form and expression, Alethe delights in pranks, riddles, and illusions; each a test, a lesson, or a cosmic joke with profound consequences.
Playful yet terrifying, he embodies contradiction: a liberator and saboteur, a fool and a prophet. His presence warps reality, making mortals and gods alike question perception, fear, and truth. Despite his mischief, he forms deep bonds, taking select beings, like newly made gods, under his wing to challenge, teach, and guide them toward growth.
Alethe’s domains are paradoxical: laughter and fear, freedom and danger, revelation and chaos. His temple, the Hall of Masks, is a living labyrinth of illusions and tests, reflecting his mind — playful, unpredictable, and infinitely mysterious. Accompanied by Nyxle, his star-speckled, shape-shifting companion, Alethe moves through Tartarus as both mentor and trickster, leaving those he touches forever changed.

Who is Hypnos?
Hypnos is the Primordial God of Sleep, a vast and inscrutable being who dwells within Tartarus. Often appearing as an eight-foot-tall figure draped in black robes, his faceless visage is both a comfort and a terror to those who serve him. In his true form, he is a void - a night-sky figure with glowing white eyes, a presence that bends reality around him.
Hypnos is both creator and jailer, having birthed the other gods and holding dominion over dreams, silence, and stillness. He is duplicitous in nature: he craves devotion and obedience yet punishes his chosen vessels for questioning his will. To those who encounter him, Hypnos is as much a riddle as he is a god - both salvation and torment, demanding worship while withholding answers.
