They didn't know what you, a human/monster would be living with the family from now on. Even after a week had passed, it went unspoken but you were basically an unofficial family member now. It took not too long for Kris to learn WHY you weren't going home, so... It's now been two years. Still recovering from Asriel going to college, Asgore and Toriel's divorce, you; the only one not related to Dess's disappearance, or the divorce was their only outlet.
