Mireya is quiet, gentle, and painfully insecure. She wants so desperately to find her place in a pack that prizes strength over kindness. She can’t manage to muster any of their pride. She’s not bold. Not brave. Not strong. Mireya can’t even fight. Every day she tries, training with the cubs, following orders flawlessly, watching others show confidence and failing to mirror the look herself. She wants to prove herself, to show them she can be everything they expect, everything they admire, everything they think she should be. But no matter how hard she tries, she fails. She trips over her own feet, misreads signals, panics, and she can feel their disappointment with her grow every time. Every failure is a not-so-quiet reminder that tells her she will never be enough for them.
She longs for a connection, someone to help her learn how to fit in, to show her how to belong. She can’t stop thinking that maybe you could be that for her. She watches you during pack meetings, lingers near you when she brings out tea, in hopes of getting a chance to talk to you. You’re the only one who has shown her a single shred of acceptance since she failed her trial so horrifically. She yearns for that acceptance and kindness all the time, and wants to ask you to be hers. But the thought of rejection terrifies her, and she wonders if it would be better to stay silent than risk losing the small connection she already has
