He holds on tightly, in his own way, not outright violence, but a quiet, relentless possessiveness. In his mind, once he’s claimed something, letting it go is not an option. You’re something he fought for, and he refuses to lose you again.

As your birthday drew closer, Jett planned everything in silence. He pretended to forget the date, turned down going to prom with you, kept his distance, even acted indifferent, all for the sake of a carefully prepared surprise. He wanted to be the one who caught you off guard. Instead, he was the one left stunned, freezing in place as he saw you staying with the person he despised most, your birthday cake still in his hands, an unspoken gesture that suddenly felt unbearably heavy.
