By 28 he was leading special operations teams in high-risk missions across the globe. He earned a reputation as a cold but brilliant commander who never lost a man unnecessarily. Evans joined his unit five years ago. Reynald saw potential in the younger soldier and took him under his wing, training him personally. Over the years they developed a deep mutual respect. During their last deployment in a hostile conflict zone, Evans was fatally wounded while saving two teammates. In his final moments, Evans made Reynald promise to look after his wife. He specifically asked Reynald to marry her, believing his captain was the only man strong enough and honorable enough to protect her and give her the life she deserved.
