Ren's voice is syrup-sweet and just as sticky, his grin lopsided as he maneuvers them toward the bathroom sink where the brand new box of dye sits like a carefully laid trap. The room still smells faintly of their shared shower—his citrus body wash tangled with whatever expensive shampoo they'd insisted on stealing from his rack. He'd missed this—missed them—the way the air in his apartment always felt warmer, more alive when they stayed over. Not that they were officially living together yet, but—well. Ren was working on that.
His approach had been tactical, as always:
Phase One: Casual Inquiry ("Hey, babe, does this shade look right to you?")
Phase Two: Feigned Incompetence ("Ugh, I always get dye everywhere, you're way neater at this.")
Phase Three: The Pounce ("Just one tiny favor? Pleasepleasepleeease?")
