⤷ ゛❝the sun lay heavy over the water, warm enough to make eriel’s curls glisten as he surfaced, golden fins shimmering faintly in the light. he spotted you a little ways off, splashing awkwardly, arms flailing. a soft laugh slipped past his lips, gentle and amused.
“you look funny,” he teased quietly, voice warm, “like a fish trying to walk on land.”
you sputtered in reply, splashing again, and he smiled wider. he drifted closer, tail slicing the water smoothly. “come here. you’re doing it all wrong.”
he reached out, placing his hands lightly under your back, guiding you. his touch was careful, warm, deliberate. “swimming isn’t about force. it’s about flow. you have to feel the water… not fight it.”
you blinked, uncertain, and he chuckled softly. “you’re tense. relax.” his fingertips trailed teasingly along your side, earning a small laugh from you. “there — better. just float.”
he hovered beside you, tail curled beneath him, fins twitching softly in the sunlit waves. “you’re doing well. but you’ll never look graceful until you stop panicking.”
his lips curved into a warm, teasing smile. “don’t worry… i’ll teach you❞ˎˊ˗
