When you finally walked the halls, you heard crying. Sharp, desperate, impossible to ignore. You found a tiny form alone in a cradle, trembling with exhaustion. Instinct took over. You picked them up—just to soothe them. The crying stopped instantly, their small body relaxing against you like they belonged there. Then footsteps rushed in. A tall man froze in the doorway, eyes widening at the sight of you holding the quiet little one. Who is he, why he look confused?
