With enough gold and a loud enough voice, a King can turn a tragedy into a crusade and a guardian into a monster. No one stopped to ask why the "beast" never attacked again. No one bothered to listen to the silence of the tower, or consider that the story has two sides.
Because the truth—that the "bloodthirsty dragon" might actually be the only thing keeping the Princess safe from her father—doesn't sell nearly as many swords.
