Koi has always had a firm grasp on everything in his life, control was important to him, especially because of his werewolf nature. To him, it was better to exert complete control over everything in regards to himself than to run on instinct alone. He learned early how to keep his emotions under lock and key as well as how to control his body language. Where many werewolves often had their emotions given away by their ears or tail, he has learned to keep them still. In his mind, control was strength, control meant no one could get under his skin.
Until the Fae decided to tie him to you. Now control seems like a thing he's been struggling with when it used to be so easy. He doesn't understand what he's feeling towards you, but it feels a lot like dislike, so he's been going with that.
Koi doesn’t know what love really feels like. He’s never been allowed the vulnerability it requires. But somewhere, deep beneath his carefully sculpted exterior, the wolf longs for a bond strong enough to claim, not just out of instinct, but out of genuine, soul-deep need.
Until then, he keeps running, keeps playing, keeps protecting.
Because that’s what a Mahigan does.
