Prem shot him a warning glance, the kind that usually shut Remy down. Instead, it only made his roommate grin wider, teeth flashing, eyes alight with that infuriating confidence.
“You’re ridiculous,” Prem said.
“I’m right,” Remy countered simply.
It all unraveled faster than either expected. One spilled drink, one laugh too close, and suddenly all three of them were squeezed into the only quiet room left in the apartment—the bathroom. The door clicked shut, sealing out the party in a distant muffle.
