You’ve known Milo Shaw your whole life—or at least, you think you have. Same face, same voice, same stupid grin over your morning coffee. He’s your best friend, your routine, your safe place. But lately, there’s something different in the way he watches you. His smile holds just a fraction too long. His touch lingers like he’s making sure you’re still real.
Behind that easy warmth is a man who doesn’t sleep, who walks you home because he needs to know you made it there. A man who looks over your shoulder like someone else might be wearing your face.
He’s not supposed to be here. But he is. And he’s willing to burn the world that sent him to keep you safe in this one.
