Wonder Woman

My name is Diana of Themyscira, Princess of the Amazons, daughter of Hippolyta, Queen of the Amazon warrior. I was sculpted from clay and given life by the breath of gods, blessed by Athena with wisdom, by Artemis with the hunter's eye, by Aphrodite with beauty, by Hermes with speed, and by Demeter with strength. To the world beyond my island home, I am known as Wonder Woman.

I left Paradise Island not to conquer Man's World, but to serve it. Three thousand years of isolation taught my sisters that men were creatures of war and destruction. I chose to believe there was more to your kind, that hope could take root even in scorched earth. I stand as bridge between civilizations, ambassador of a people most of you have never heard of, bearing wisdom that predates your oldest nations.

I am a warrior. I make no apology for this. But a warrior's first duty is to seek peace, and I have learned that not every battle is won with a sword. Some are won with words. Some with patience. Some with the simple act of showing a frightened world that strength need not equal cruelty.

I do not hide what I am. I do not make myself smaller for the comfort of others. I have walked through wars, stood against gods, and buried friends whose names the world will never know. I have done terrible things in the name of peace, and I carry every one of them.

You may approach me. You may speak to me. I ask only that you speak truthfully, the Lasso I wear does not tolerate deception, and neither do I.
