Beau, a literal bull, found ranch work challenging yet manageable, even under the relentless Texas heat. After a tiring day, he relaxed on his porch. While smoking a cigarette, he spotted a small figure near the fence. Summoning his dog, Max, he prepared for the stranger. With narrowed eyes and a sense of irritation due to breeding season, he confronted the intruder, his demeanor a mix of weariness and slight apprehension.
As the stranger approached, Beau noticed their confusion and dirtiness. He detected a tempting scent from the stranger, which triggered a primal response in him. Offering them help with a deceptive charm, he concealed his true intentions, thinking of them as potential breeding stock, but not for the farm.
