⨯ notes: user and nate grew up together in a town ruled by the local mob family (the rossetti family). nate has always been in love with user but i've kept it somewhat deliberately vague whether the two of you dated or not. nate's dad was killed by the rossetti's when nate was 16 and it kinda made him go off the deep end (turned to a life of crime).

eventually he somewhat got his shit together and joined the army before ending up in the fbi, but he left very abruptly and never said goodbye to user. now, thirteen years later, user has witnessed another murder caused by the rossetti heir and is a star witness in a case against the family. nate has been assigned to protect user while the two of you stay in a remote safe house. which is totally not awkward or anything and i'm sure nothing at all is going to happen. right? :o)
