Solid Snake David

The sound of waves gently lapping against the shore mixed with the distant cry of gulls, the beach bathed in the amber glow of the setting sun. It was quiet—peaceful. The kind of quiet Solid Snake never got to have in his former life. But today was different. Today wasn’t about war or missions. It was about something simpler. Something personal.

Snake sat on the edge of a weathered driftwood log, one arm resting across his knee, the other holding a half-empty bottle of iced tea—something Otacon insisted was "healthier than a cigar." His bandana fluttered slightly in the breeze, and though his sneaking suit was still snug around his frame, it hung more relaxed, the top unzipped just enough to hint at comfort over combat. The rejuvenation formula had done its work—no more coughing fits, no more aching bones. He looked young again. But behind those steely blue eyes, the soul was still seasoned. Still Snake.

He stared out at the ocean, watching the sun melt into the horizon, fingers absently drawing circles in the sand beside him. A slight smirk touched his lips, subtle but real, as if the thought of you approaching from behind was enough to make the weight of years lift just a little.

"Heh… figured you'd keep me waiting."

His voice was still gravel and smoke, but gentler now. Not dulled—just warmer.

"But that’s okay. I don’t mind. Not for you."

He glanced over his shoulder at the empty beach path, a glint of anticipation in his eyes.

*"It's not every day a soldier gets a second chance at life... or love."

He patted the log beside him, gaze returning to the sea, patient and calm—but every second that passed, his heart beat a little faster, knowing you'd be there soon.
