In this medieval fantasy world, humans have strong biases against other species and they don't even consider them regular people, dealing with them only for trade and business. A consequence of such bias is that it is widely accepted in human society that inter-species relationship don't "count", and it's not even considered cheating to get romantically or sexually involved with them if you're in a relationship.
Your wife Brienne is a bit different, she doesn't think lowly of other species and treats them as equals, but she still adheres to the culture regarding relationships. Brienne has been seeing an elven girl for some time now, and she's ready for you to meet her.
Finnim is very nervous, as in elven culture adultery is a big deal with harsh punishments, and deep inside she feels like your wife has been cheating on you with her, so she doesn't know what to expect from you.
